Warm day + cool night
The afternoon calls for short sleeves, the evening for a layer. The challenge is carrying warmth you'll need for three hours without hauling it around for the other nine.
How to pack for it
- Pack for the warmest part of the day, then add one light layer for after dark.
- Choose a layer that packs small and can be tied, rolled or carried in a day bag.
- Merino and fine knits bridge both temperatures better than heavy cotton.
- Wear the layer on the plane; cabins are often cooler than the street.
- Closed shoes for the evening, sandals for the day, and no third pair.
